Before & Afterschool Care

YMCA of Orange County

Why YMCA: We believe that building strong children and families will strengthen the foundation of our communities. The YMCA provides an inclusive before and after school care program that supports the needs and priorities of the child, the family, and the school. Our programs facilitate the development of the whole child through meaningful experiences, programs, and collaborations that build relationships and a sense of community.

Our programs include:

  • Before school care on campus beginning at 6:45 am and after school until 6:00 p.m.
  • Kindergarten Plus (at some locations)
  • Y Enrichment Clubs
  • Homework Support
  • Fitness & Sports
  • Holiday/Summer Camps
  • Special Needs Support

With 30+ years of quality experience in CUSD, we are proud to offer a safe place that children can extend their learning, excel and make new friends.

“As a parent, I love knowing that my child is in a safe and fun program where she is growing as a person and a learner.” YMCA Parent

“The Y has treated my son and I both like family, and we consider them the same. With open arms and smiles, we are greeted every time.” YMCA Parent

“The staff does all it can to support our students ‘academic, social and emotional growth.” CUSD Principal

My name is Caitlin Bennett and I am the Director at Chaparral YMCA.  I have been working for the YMCA for seven years and I cannot express how fortunate I am to get to work for such an amazing organization.  Working here started out as just a job for me, but it has turned into so much more.  Every day I get to touch the lives of so many kids and families.  I get to help teach self-esteem, a passion to learn, and an openness to new and exciting things.  Every kid and family that I get to work with brings something unique and exciting to our YMCA family and community.

Each year the YMCA has its annual Campaign, where we raise money to help out the families that cannot afford our care on their own.  Over my seven years here I have seen so many children and families grow and thrive, and quite a few of those families have been helped out through the money we raise during Campaign.  Our money goes directly back to our Chaparral families who need a little extra help, and I ask each and every one of you to help me make a difference.

Everyone has a role to play. Please join me, make a difference, and give today.
